·       WHY WON'T MY HEAT PRESS SWITCH ON?

o   Does the press have power supply? - The power cord may be unplugged from the back of the press or wall socket/ wall socket may not be switched on

o   Circuit breaker may have tripped – Reset the circuit breaker and ensure that the press is plugged into a dedicated circuit that is supplying enough power.

o   Is the press plugged into an extension lead? – Ensure that this is the only item plugged into the extension lead and that the cord is at least a 12 gauge wire size

·       WHY WON'T MY HEAT PRESS HEAT UP?

o   The press may still be in settings mode

§  Clam Basic/ MAXX/ Auto Open – Ensure that all lights are out down the side of the control panel – if any lights are on, press the mode button until non remain lit.

§  Fusion IQ  – Press anywhere on the screen to exit settings mode

·       WHY WON'T MY HEAT PRESS COUNT DOWN?

o   Pressure improperly adjusted (all models) – reduce or increase the pressure until it is within normal working range (please note that on manually adjusted presses, this should be done in quarter turns to prevent over pressurising the press)

·       WHY IS MY PRESS OVERHEATING?

o   All presses – Temperature settings have been accidentally changed – check correct settings are in use.

o   Controller out of calibration – Every so often your press will need to be calibrated. For IQ models of the Fusion / Air Fusion and Dual Air Fusion – please see the operators manual.

·       WHY DOES MY HEAT PRESS HAVE NO PRESSURE

o   Pressure set too low – Increase pressure (this should be done in quarter turns to prevent over pressurising the press)

·       WHY HAS MY CONTROLLER FROZEN?

o   Maxx/ Auto Open Heat Press: Your controller may have encountered an error. This can be fixed by performing a factory reset:

§  Turn Press on

§  Hold down (+) and (-) buttons simultaneously until the display blinks (approx.. 10 seconds)

§   Turn Press off

§  Wait 5 seconds

§  Turn Press On

·       WHY IS MY PRESSURE NOT READING/NOT DISPLAYING ZERO WHEN OPEN?

AUTO OPEN, FUSION IQ, AIR FUSION & DUAL AIR FUSION

o   Pressure is set too high – decrease pressure

o   Controller out of calibration (For IQ models of the XF/ XRF and XRF2, please see operator’s manual)

·       WHY WON'T MY PRESS NOT AUTO OPEN?

AUTO OPEN MODELS

o   Pressure set too low – Increase pressure until sufficient to pop open press (this should be done in quarter turns to prevent over pressurising the press)

·       WHY WON'T MY PRESS LOCK DOWN?

AUTO OPEN MODELS

o   Press isn’t counting down (see ‘Why won’t my press count down’)

o   Pressure is set too high – decrease pressure until electromagnet can hold down press

o   Print time settings set too low (0 seconds)

o   Excessive dust and lint build up on electromagnet – clean the top of the electromagnet and bottom of the handle plate that it contacts.

·       WHY IS MY PRESS SWINGING / SHUTTLING TOO FAST OR SLOW

AIR FUSION & DUAL AIR FUSION

o   Press Not on Level Surface – Adjust self-levelling casters or feet to level press

o   Flow Control Valves need adjusting (Adjust flow control values through holes on top of the control housing using a flat head screw driver:

§  The right valve controls swing away speed and the left valve controls return swing speed

§  Turn clockwise to reduce swing speed and turn anticlockwise to increase swing speed.

·       WHY WILL MY HEAT PRESS NOT SWING?

AIR FUSION & DUAL AIR FUSION

o   Shop Air Supply inadequate:

§  Ensure your compressor supplies enough power for the press

§  Pressure show on compressor regulator should be between 100 – 120 psi and at least 20 psi higher than the print pressure

§  2.3CFM per press

o   Auto Swing/ Shuttle Mode is Disabled: Press the gold arrow icon until a green check mark appears.

§  A white foot icon indicates that the press will swing/shuttle when the foot pedal is pressed

§  A red ‘X’ indicates that the press is in manual mode and needs to be swung/ shuttled manually.

o   Press Not on Level Surface – Adjust self-levelling casters or feet to level press

o   Foot Pedal plug not inserted completely – Check foot pedal connection is fully inserted.

·       WHY WILL MY HEAT PRESS NOT GO UP AND DOWN?

AIR FUSION & DUAL AIR FUSION

o   Quick release button disengaged – if the quick release button is not lit, the button is disengaged – press the button until lit.

o   Print buttons not held simultaneously or for long enough – This is a safety feature of the press – both print buttons need to be pressed at the same time

o   Controller is in tack mode: Press the thumb tack icon until a red ‘X’ is displayed

o   Insufficient air pressure – warning triangle may be indicated on the display screen – shop pressure too low or shop air hose pinched/ damaged (See why will my press will not swing)

o   EP regulator malfunction due to excessive moisture – Drain water separator (air filter) on the back of the press, drain shop air compressor and allow 24 hours for the system to dry (we recommend regularly checking the air filter and draining moisture.

·       WHAT DOES THE YELLOW TRIANGLE MEAN?

o   If you have the yellow triangle warning, it is usually accompanied by one of the following messages:

§  “Low Shop Pressure” (Warning appears continuously):  Ensure your compressor supplies enough power for the press - Pressure showing on the compressor regulator should be between 100 – 120 psi and at least 20 psi higher than the print pressure, 2.3CFM per press

§  “Low Shop Pressure” (Warning appears immediately before compressor automatically starts):  Increase airflow to press

§  “Low Shop Pressure” (Warning appears intermittently):  Check air supply system for pinched or damaged supply line

§  “Pressure Regulator Malfunction” warning due to insufficient air flow: Check air supply system for pinched or damaged supply line

§  “Pressure Regulator Malfunction” warning due to excessive moisture: Drain water separator (air filter) on the back of the press, drain shop air compressor and allow 24 hours for the system to dry (we recommend regularly checking the air filter and draining moisture.

§  “Pressure Regulator Malfunction” warning due to damaged EP regulator – Replace EP Regulator.

o   AIR LEAK CAN BE HEARD

AIR FUSION & DUAL AIR FUSION

§  Airline disconnected from Air Filter in the back of the press: Inspect rear of press for disconnected airline

§  Air Filter cracked due to excessive pressure: Replace the air filter and reduce supplied air pressure to between 100 – 120 psi

§  Airline inside housing disconnected – check all connections

§  EP Regulator leaking – replace EP Regulator

§  Swing Valve exhaust port leaking quietly – Some air is constantly released through the valve port during normal operation – no action is needed

o   WHY DO MY PRE-SETS KEEP CHANGING?

DUAL AIR FUSION

§  The pre-sets for each side are individually loaded – make sure that the pre-sets are the same for both ‘A’ and ‘B’.
