HOW TO: MAKE A CUSTOMISED VEGAN PRODUCT

Did you know that all our Glitter and High Build 3D Heat Transfer Vinyl is certified VeganOK?! Yes, that’s right! You can now meet the needs of your consumers and decorate your vegan products, whether that be t-shirts, face masks and everything in between, with a vegan approved Heat Transfer Vinyl! To create your vegan products, you will need a Heat Press, a cutter, some vegan HTV and a vegan product. Here we’ve used vegan t-shirts from Mantis World.

1. Choose your design and which vegan vinyl you wish to use for your transfer.

2. Cut your design into your chosen Vinyl with a cutter.

Here at Target Transfers we have a variety of cutters, prices starting from £165. The designs pictured here were cut using the New Silhouette Cameo 4 Plus (15”) Cutter.

3. Next, weed your design.

We find it much easier to use a weeding tool to do this. The Stahls’ LED Weeder is our favourite as the LED light makes the weeding process faster, increases visibility and therefore accuracy. We also stock the Stahls’ EZ Weeder.

4. Once your design is all ready to go, it’s time to pre-press your product.

Pre-pressing your product before applying the transfer ensures that there are no bumps or creases which would result in the transfer not being applied as seamlessly as it could be. Not pre-pressing could also cause potential cracks and lifting in the vinyl and affect it’s lasting power when washed and stretched.

5. Time to Transfer!

Once you have pre-pressed your product, place the vinyl onto the product with some release paper over the top and press for the appropriate time (for glitter HTV this is 10 seconds at 150°c, for High Build 3D HTV this is 20 seconds at 155°c).
